A challenge for experienced hikers; The Lake Superior Provincial Park Coastal Trek will not disappoint if you are seeking a demanding, adventurous, and an exceptionally scenic hike.

This coastal trail is the best in the world. It meanders along the north shore of Lake Superior within the boundaries of Lake Superior Provincial Park between the Agawa Bay Campground and Chalfant Cove (northern most point on this hike).

You will experience a variety of landscapes along the trail that make this park what it is – spectacular; rocky shores, sandy beaches, rivers, lakes, forested areas, wetlands, undulating hills and granite outcrops. During most of your journey you will be hiking on the shores of Lake Superior, or it will be visible from panoramic lookouts.

Discover some of the secrets along the coast; blueberry heaven, the BR beach, hidden caves, fishing at Coldwater, Agawa Rock Pictographs, sunken ships, Devil’s Chair, towering pines, delicate arctic flowers ….. and more.

There is nothing that compares to this trail and the challenge of hiking this coast should not be underestimated - it is extremely rugged and equally beautiful.

Note: Times will vary depending on the weather, trail conditions, and physical conditioning. This is only a general scenic guide; refer to your park map available at the Agawa Bay Visitors Centre or Park Office at Red Rock. Check with the park staff for up to date trail conditions.
