Type of hike: Interior Backcountry Day Hike, Linear/Out & Back
Difficulty: Easy - Family
Time: 1.5 to 2 hours
Distance: 6 kms / 3.75 miles

One of the finest day hikes in the park! And a great spot for a day trip with the family. Other activities you can do while visiting the Sand River; have a picnic, take photographs, paint, go fishing, or just sit and relax.

The Pinguisibi is a linear / out & back trail, taking about 90 minutes total hiking time with no stops. This hike is flat to undulating; with views of three major sets of waterfalls, interspersed with rapids. Follow the marked, well-worn trail along the north bank of the Sand River for about 45 minutes. There is a small campsite at the turn-around for those who want to stay overnight and for paddlers who are making their way down the Sand River. It is picturesque, so add in some extra time to stop and enjoy the falls, listen to the rushing water, and take some photographs.

Note: Times will vary depending on the weather, trail conditions, and physical conditioning. This is only a general scenic guide; refer to your park map available at the Agawa Bay Visitors Centre or Park Office at Red Rock. Check with the park staff for up to date trail conditions.
